Songwriter Showcase
Learn about the lineup for the November 18th songwriter showcase
Heartsleeve
Since Heartsleeve burst onto the Winnipeg music scene in 2018, they’ve quickly become a crowd favourite with their unique blend of rootsy folk music turned on its head. Don’t be fooled by their acoustic instruments; Heartsleeve is anything but traditional. Their music is infused with unexpected twists and turns, from ballads and foot-stomping bluegrass bangers to haunting carnival-inspired melodies. It’s impossible to predict what’s coming next, but one thing is always guaranteed: a right good time.
Doug McArthur
Doug McArthur is a seasoned singer-songwriter who has been making music for over two decades. Known for his powerful voice, Doug has captivated audiences through his dynamic performances with bands Broken Halo and Soapbox, and has written and released two albums and one EP, toured Western Canada, playing headlining shows and festivals.
Shay Wolf
Born and raised in the Canadian prairies, Shay Wolf is a classical pianist turned singer/songwriter. whose music finds its way into the cracks of your heart. Her music works its way into the cracks of your heart and will leave you feeling like you’ve just daydreamed for hours watching the clouds go by. Her music explores the depth and complexity of being human: her vocals and melodies are dreamy yet haunting, and her lyrics are scornful yet optimistic. She has been compared to Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell and Regina Spektor.
Milt Homely
Milt Homely slings classic country tunes with a delightfully dark and funny twist. He describes himself as Oklahoma's forgotten son, Winnipeg's troubled troubadour, and Manitoba's man in brown. He's a north end poet, prairie prophet and the self-declared Minister of Loneliness.
